The local mental health association has launched a magazine called Talk About It, aimed at educating people about mental illness.
"This magazine offers us a great opportunity to break the negative stigma that still exists regarding mental illness," said Patti Lauzon of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Lauzon said the free publication will contain stories about people living with mental illness and the "hope and courage that comes with recovery."
The magazine, which the agency hopes to publish four times a year, will also feature tips on obtaining information about programs and services the CMA offers in the community.
The first issue features a story on hockey legend Ron Ellis and his battle with depression, a piece on Seasonal Affective Disorder and recipes from the chef at Koolini Italian Eatery.
