About the Program
Aimee Mullins is a record-setting track star, a fashion muse, a magnetic film presence, and innovator. She is also the owner of more than a dozen pairs of prosthetic legs, many of which have been exhibited in museums. By challenging the conventional ideas of disability and beauty, Mullins boldly re-imagines the body’s physical and artistic potential.
Several of Mullins’ prosthetic legs—including an intricately carved wooden set designed by the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen—will be on display the evening of the talk.
Free with reservations. RSVP to Liza Key, efkey (202) 628-2800, ext. 3896@vsarts.org
