Blogger tries to continue discussion of disability community needs post-election

Blogger Mark Miller emailed me to say that he has posted "10 ways people can make a difference in disability issues now that the campaigning has ended" on his Special Needs Truth 2008 blog.

Visit his blog for full details but here's a summary of the 10 things he lists:

  1. Write a letter to President-elect Obama.
  2. Write a letter to Sen. McCain.
  3. Write a letter to Gov. Palin.
  4. While you're at it, contact all of your elected officials about the issues you care about.
  5. Don't forget that "all politics is local."
  6. Connect with others, online and in person.
  7. Can't we all get along?
  8. Stay informed.
  9. Walk the Walk(s).
  10. Don't feel guilty if you don't have time to do these things. Remember that advocating for your own child, family member, or any other person in your life can have an impact on many other lives. Do what's best for them, and you'll be helping others as well.
