SNL parodies Gov. Paterson again

From the The Daily Politics column in the NY Daily News, which has a video clip of Fred Armisen playing NY Gov. David Paterson again. "Saturday Night Live" trots out the blindness jokes again, but mostly Armisen as Paterson insults NJ and upstate NY. You can watch the episode on hulu.com as well.

As if the post-US Senate mainstream media pile-on wasn't enough, SNL is adding insult to injury for Gov. David Paterson.

Paterson has made it clear he doesn't like being the butt of jokes on late-night TV
(unless he's making them himself), but that didn't stop "Saturday Night Live"
from lampooning the governor yet again.

Just like last time, SNL's Fred Armisen focused on the governor's visual impairment
and made passing reference to his youthful cocaine use.

New this time: Repeated hits to the state of New Jersey (four, to be exact) and a major dis on upstaters.

In a span of 4 minutes and 55 seconds, Armisen made no fewer three blind jokes, starting off by rolling onto the set in a wheeled chair and colliding with "Weekend Update" host Seth Myers.

At the end of the mock interview, the "governor" has to be told he's all done and it's time to leave.

On the decision to pick Kirsten Gillibrand to fill Hillary Clinton's US Senate seat, the make-believe Paterson said:

"I thought by making one of their hometown girls senator I would get some support from the upstate goonies, but they're nowhere to be found. Where are those freakshows? What is it, squirrel-hunting season? Was there a mouth breathers convention in Ithaca I didn't know about? Was there one wedding? 'Cause they're all related."

Armisen-as-Paterson also professed not to be worried about his 2010 re-election bid because he's more of a "Oh, no! What are we going to do? Last minute type of guy." He called downstate Democrats "skinny liberals" and people anrgy about his proposed tax on sugary drinks "fatties."
