Alabama legislature votes to create regional autism centers

From The AP:

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Legislature has voted to create regional autism centers that will provide staff to help people with autism and their families.

The bill by Republican Rep. Cam Ward of Alabaster passed the House last month and cleared the Senate on Thursday. It now goes to the governor.

Ward's bill will set up eight centers across the state. Ward, who has an autistic child, said Alabama is taking major strides toward the treatment of children with autism.
