Disabled musician in Ghana out with new album

From GhanaMusic.com:

Thanks to Anokro Record Label, Bosheba, (pictured) the new wonder kid on the block is out to make a profound statement with music about disability. Tachie K. Sampson aka Bosheba, a disabled who was attacked by polio at an early age is not allowing his predicament to hinder his musical exploits and he’s using his music to sensitize the populace that, disability should not be a setback but a challenge to overcome and inspire others like him to rise and fend for themselves.

The young enterprising musician is out with a campaign song, a foundation for the disabled and an album. Together with Anokro Label, the musician will launch the campaign song, the Bosheba Foundation and a nationwide tour at the British Council on the15 July, 2009.

The campaign song is an inspiring song that tells us the disabled person is as human as any of us and capable of achieving great things like any of us and that, we need to accord them the necessary respect.

The Bosheba Foundation is a non-governmental organization with the aim of creating awareness about the causes of disability and also aims at getting off the streets a greater number of disabled persons. He’s of the view that there’s no dignity in begging and that the Foundation which was started in 2007, encourages self-reliance among the physically-challenged.

Bosheba’s candid view is that, persons with disabilities should not be discriminated against but, rather, they should be loved, catered to, and encouraged to bring out whatever talents they have.

The launch of the campaign song, album and the foundation at the British Council next month will also seek to raise funds for the foundation and its cause.

According to Bosheba, he takes inspiration from artistes like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles who excelled at their careers despite being visually-disabled.

The ‘Bosheba – The Physical’ album include ‘Chaskele’ and ‘Alomo gyata’ danceable love tracks rendered in hiplife with appealing backing vocals.
