Texas bus driver indicted for beating a teen with Down syndrome

From KGNS-TV Larado, Texas:

A local school bus driver is in trouble for allegedly hurting one of the passengers on his bus.

According to the Webb County District Attorney's Office, that passenger is a teenage student with Down Syndrome.

Officials say the crime happened on a United ISD school bus back on February 19Th.
Bus driver Jose Estrada Junior was indicted in court July 15 on eight counts of injury to a child.

The D.A.'s office says the child was sitting in the front seat of the bus when Estrada allegedly was caught on the bus camera, pulling the teen's hair and hitting the child in the mouth.

Estrada was arrested on March 5th.

A spokesperson for UISD could not confirm tonight if Estrada is still employed with the district.
