Third person charged in stabbing death of Mississippi disabled woman

PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- A third suspect has been charged in the March 5 stabbing death of a disabled Orange Grove woman.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd says Nancy Elizabeth Scott of Brandon has been charged with capital murder in the death of Donna Slater.

The 46-year-old Slater, who had spina bifida and used a wheelchair, was found dead on the kitchen floor of her home. The woman has been stabbed in the neck during an apparent robbery.

Johnny Lee Townsend of Pascagoula and Joe Anthony Loggins also have been charged in the slaying. They are being held without bond.

Scott was being held in the county jail Tuesday awaiting an initial court appearance.
