Autism center planned for New York-Presbyterian Hospital

From The AP:

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- New York-Presbyterian Hospital has announced plans to help establish a center where patients with autism and other developmental brain disorders can seek treatment.

Plans call for the Institute for Brain Development to open on the hospital's White Plains campus in 2012. The hospital said in an announcement Wednesday the facility will be opened in partnership with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Weill Cornell Medical College and the New York Center for Autism.

The hospital says the center will target patients from infancy to adulthood and will help guide parents in arranging for care in the community where they live. It will also focus on research and education.
