Azerbaijan launches disability anti-stigma campaign

United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA) has started a Disability stigma campaign “Respect the humanity”.

People with different type of disabilities (PWD) face stigma and stigma born hardship in the world. The main goals of this public awareness campaign are to increase empathy towards people with disability (PWD) and understanding towards their needs, to build up positive image of disabled person, and raise awareness in society about the equality of opportunities for PWD.

The campaign will continue for 2 months and it is supported by European Union.
As part of the campaign, UAFA will distribute leaflets and display posters in metros and buses.

To note, the stigma campaign has been launched in Baku, and will continue in the regions of the country too.
