Wheelchair user in Britain wins £3,000 after bar won't let him enter

From The Mirror in the UK:

A wheelchair sports star was awarded £3,000 after suing a bar for refusing him entry because he was considered a fire risk.

Paul Cartwright, 46, was born with spina bifida. He was refused entry to the OK Karaoke bar in Leeds because it had no ramp.

The 2012 Olympics powerlifting hopeful won his case for discrimination at Leeds County Court.

Paul, of Liversedge, Yorkshire, said: "I can assure OK Karaoke I do not spontaneously combust." OK Karaoke boss Stephen Hawkins apologised.
