Thomas P. Kennedy The Boston Globe profiled Thomas P. Kennedy, a 57-year-old Democrat, who is one of a small number of quadriplegics in elective office in the United States. Kennedy is running unopposed for the state Senate in the Second Plymouth and Bristol District in Massachusetts and should be taking his place there in January.
He's be in politics since he was elected to the Brockton, Mass., City Council in 1977, and in 1982 he won out of a 10-person field to become a state representative, a position he has held ever since.
