WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- With a couple of weeks to go before election night, inspectors in Jefferson County are learning how to use the new voting machines.
There are 360 poll workers throughout the county, however only one Democrat and one Republican from each site need to learn the new machines which will be used by voters with disabilities this November.
"If someone's able to vote on a lever machine, they'll continue to vote on a lever machine. This machine is for the use of people who have a disability of some type, they can't maybe, they don't have arms and can't vote on the lever machine," said Jerry Eaton, Jefferson County Election Commissioner.
