A woman in a wheelchair who was allegedly doused in metho and set alight in the state's west has died in hospital.
The incident is alleged to have occurred about 9.30pm (AEDT) Feb. 14 during a domestic argument between a man and a woman at Fifth Avenue, Narromine.
Police will allege the 50-year-old wheelchair-bound woman was doused in methylated spirits before being set alight. The man then fled the scene.
Neighbours rushed the house and doused the flames, with emergency services arriving a short time later.
The woman, who suffered serious burns to her face, arms and torso, was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital before being flown to St George Hospital. She passed away this morning.
A 57-year-old Narromine man was arrested by police and taken to Narromine Police Station.
He was charged with attempted murder and cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and was refused bail to face Narromine Local Court today.
His charges are expected to be upgraded to include murder during the court appearance Feb. 15.

Australian wheelchair user dies after being set on fire in domestic dispute
