GLOUCESTER, Va. — A Gloucester County couple faces first-degree murder charges after the remains of a child were found on their property.
The Daily Press reports murder charges were filed against 29-year-old Brian Gore and 25-year-old Shannon Gore in Gloucester Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. The couple faces other charges filed earlier.
Deputies serving a search warrant stemming from a burglary investigation on Thursday found a malnourished young girl in a makeshift cage. Authorities said they found her eating some of her own skin flakes. The girl and a month-old boy who was found unharmed were turned over to the county Department of Social Services.
The next day, deputies discovered a child's remains while digging around a shed at the residence. An autopsy report by the state medical examiner is pending.
