As a comedian who stutters and has a learning disability, Nina G (pictured) was tired of the images of people with disabilities in the media.
For herself, all the reflections of people who stuttered were either presented with pity or tragedy.
Beyond Inspirational (http://www.beyondinspirational.com/) is an attempt to show stories from people with disabilities from their own perspectives.
It may not be inspirational. It may not be about overcoming.
But it is a realistic perspective of our lives in our words and in the way we communicate.
