Seattle company redesigning wheelchairs with bike gears

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that a local firm, MagicWheels, Inc., has created a new wheelchair design that adds bicycle-like gears to the wheels so users can shift gears to get less or more resistance when pushing up a hill, for example.
