Paralympics closes with most media coverage ever

The last of my roundup of Google alerts stories about the Beijing Paralympics. The Canadian and Chinese English-language press seemed to cover it the most. In one picture, China's Gao Fangxia(C), Xiao Yanhong(L) and Fu Hongzhi wave on the podium during the awards ceremony of women's archery event at the Paralympic Games. China defeated South Korea 205-177 and won the gold medal. The other picture is from the Parlympics closing ceremony.
According to a Paralympics press release, the 2008 games were the most broadcast ever: "With a total of 29 rights holders covering more than 75 countries worldwide, from all regions (Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania), the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games has the largest number of rights-holding broadcasters in the history of the Paralympic Games. Currently, the broadcaster with the winning number of hours is China's CCTV and BTV, with more than 22 hours of Paralympic Games daily on different channels. This includes live programmes, as well as news."
