A Bennington, Vt., woman will receive half a million dollars after she got sick at a contaminated hotel.
Gail Stevens was attending a conference at the Cortina Inn in Mendon five years ago when she contracted Legionnaires' disease. The hotel closed two years ago after being linked to three cases of Legionnaires' disease, including Stevens' case.
Stevens, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, claimed that contracting the disease made her condition worse, because at the time she was able to get around with a cane but now must use a crutch.
