Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones relocate to NY for education of son, who has dyslexia

Throat cancer is not the only problem that Academy Award winning actor Michael Douglas is dealing right now. The star of “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones recently revealed that their 10-year old son has dyslexia.

“My son deals with dyslexia to a degree – it runs in the family and my brother has it. He goes to a special school,” Michael Douglas told Britain’s The Guardian.

The actor said he and his wife moved from Bermuda to New York so his son could attend a special school.

“New York is where we live now.,” Douglas told The Guardian. “We lived in Bermuda until last September,” he said. Because of his kid’s special needs, the actor said “it was recommended he go to a special school in the New York area.”

The actor further revealed that he and his wife are not “overwhelmed with worry about which school or college” their kids are going to.

“We just want them to be good citizens of the planet. They’re not spoiled or obnoxious. They’re well-mannered, confident, pretty worldly,” the proud celebrity father said. “We’re old-fashioned parents…Our children make us proud.”
