Lennard J. Davis, pictured left, a professor of disability studies at the University of Illinois-Chicago, questions whether Ben Stiller is a 'Tropic' Blunder? in an NPR commentary August 12.
Davis' books on disability include Enforcing Normalcy: Disability, Deafness, and the Body in 1995 and The Disability Studies Reader in 1996. He also wrote a memoir, My Sense of Silence, in 2000, which describes his childhood in a Deaf family. After its publication, he appeared on National Public Radio’s Fresh Air to discuss the memoir.
