"Just add water," film about top surfer with Asperger's, premieres

Surfer magazine says, Quiksilver’s film, "Clay Marzo: Just Add Water," made its worldwide debut Sept. 8 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, CA. (I posted an entry about the film Aug. 31.)

The trailer of the film about Clay Marzo (right), a top surfer who has Asperger's, is now available. I am sucker for surf films and this one looks amazing, especially due the excellent shots of Marzo's superior surfing abilities.

Surfer says, "the film delves not only into the science of his inverted hacks, but also his lifelong social struggles – bringing awareness to the condition not only for himself but afflicted children around the world. A portion of the film’s proceeds will be donated to Surfer’s Healing Foundation, an organization formed by Izzy Paskowitz that exposes autistic children to the gift of surfing."

Surfer’s Healing Founder Izzy Paskowitz said, “This is such a worldly project. Surfing has been such a godsend, and can help to enrich the lives of autistic children all over the world.”

Marzo explained his love of surfing this way: “It feels so much different in the water. I feel like I’m at home.”
