The Disability Rights and Leadership Exchange through Mobility International USA (MIUSA) will be June 26 to July 10, 2009.The application deadline is March 20, 2009. The Costa Rica program gives participants the opportunity to:
- Live with a host family
- Learn Spanish through immersion
- Learn about disability rights and leadership
Generous scholarships are available and applications available online at http://www.miusa.org/exchange/costarica09/costrica2009. MIUSA says first-time travelers with disabilities who are between 18-24 years old, from cultural minority and low-income backgrounds are encouraged to apply. ASL staff interpreters and materials in alternative formats will be provided. Funding for personal assistants may also be available.
