This year's VSA Playwright Discovery Evening promises to be doubly entertaining since it will feature not one, but two productions.
"The Marionette Effect" is an original, award-winning, one-act play by 17-year-old playwright Laura Hogikyan (pictured) of Superior Township, Michigan, that tells the story of a teenager who is unable to play the piano the way she used to after having a stroke.
"Jack From Above" is a one-man show performed by Tony Award–winning director Jack Hofsiss (The Elephant Man, 1979) that chronicles his experiences after a diving accident in 1985. The play is a tale of life, love, art, the human body, and the human spirit that is both harrowing and hilarious. Jack From Above is written and directed by Ethan Silverman.
