This is an "iffy" post but I saw the promo for the new Judy Greer comedy, "Miss/Guided," on ABC-TV and it appears to have a character who uses a wheelchair in it. The premise is an "ugly duckling" (ABC's words not mine) who returns to her alma mater to be the high school guidance counselor.
In the promo, several adults are telling their high school memories of Greer's guidance counselor character, and one is an Asian man in a wheelchair. It could just have been for the promo, but here's hoping he is an actual ongoing character.
I really like Judy Greer and hope her show is successful. She's an excellent comedic actress who never has hit the stardom she deserves because she is always in roles as the funny sidekick character. So hopefully a show focused on her will give her the platform to wow an audience with her humor.
The show has some powerhouse backing with Ashton Kutcher as its executive producer, Caroline Williams ("The Office") as its creator, and Todd Holland ("Malcolm in the Middle" and "Wonderfalls") as director.
The show will premiere on March 18 at 10:30 p.m. and then move to its regular 8 p.m. Thursday night slot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
