Former Uruguay international Dario Silva, (pictured in blue shirt) who was forced to retire after having part of his right leg amputated, has reiterated his desire to compete at the London 2012 Paralympics as a rower.
The ex-Sevilla and Portsmouth forward had his right leg amputated below the knee following a road accident in Montevideo in 2006.
The 36-year-old returned to the pitch, complete with prosthetic leg, to play a charity game in Maldonado for the benefit of the 'Ninos con Alas' foundation which helps poor children.
And after the game he spoke of his wish to make it to the Paralympics. "I love to row and I am challenging myself to achieve London," he said. "This is a promise and a dream that I hope to accomplish.
