U.S. sledge hockey team competes in Japan Open, beats Canadian team first day


NAGANO, Japan--The U.S. Paralympics Sled Hockey National Team is taking to the ice this week, competing against some of the world's top teams in the Japan Open Ice Sledge Hockey Championships, January 13-16.

The competition pits the U.S. against the host country, Norway and arch rival Canada. Games began on Tuesday, January 13 with the U.S. knocking off Canada, 1-0. Wednesday, Team USA takes on Japan and on Thursday they will face Norway. Championship games will be played on Friday, January 16.
