Marlee Matlin on NPR: "Do what you have to do" to get things accomplished

She’s the youngest woman ever to win a “Best Actress” Academy Award, and still the only deaf actor to do so.

Through her longtime interpreter Jack Jason, Marlee Matlin reflects on her highly successful acting career.

Matlin also discusses the 20th Anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and her experience as a deaf woman in showbiz.

Matlin says her parents taught her that you have to "do what you have to do" to get things done.
